Dr Catherine Olsson
B.A (Psychology), Grad Dip (Child & Adolescent Psych), PhD.
I am an experienced, registered psychologist (28 years) who specialises in the adjustment to loss, chronic, and life-threatening illness, with a particular focus on children and young people. With my PhD in child and adolescent health and my ongoing engagement in research on loss and chronic illness, I have the knowledge, skills and passion to assist individuals and families facing these challenges. My dedication is further demonstrated as the Founder of the Young Maggie's initiative in Australia, a program inspired by the renowned UK Maggies Centres that provides much-needed support to parents raising children and young people with chronic and life-limiting illnesses.
I take a client centred approach and have an interest in attachment and mindfulness approaches.
Whether you are a parent, a young person, or someone dealing with these challenges yourself, I am available to listen to your concerns, provide you with an opportunity to "off-load" and explore strategies with you that will hopefully help.
